Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Foreign Scholars and Artists
The Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) of the Swiss Confederation awards various scholarships to foreign postgraduate researchers in all disciplines.
The application dossier is submitted to the responsible national public authorities and/or to the Swiss diplomatic body for the initial selection process. The shortlisted candidates are then assessed by the Swiss Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), which makes the final selection.

Important information for applicants
The application dossier must include a letter (email) from a professor at the host university (i.e. the Ðǿմ«Ã½) stating that he or she will take on the role of academic advisor. To obtain this letter, candidates must present their research project to the appropriate professor at the host university. The professor is free to accept or reject the candidate’s proposal.
